Improving moodle performance

As part of a programme of small incremental improvements, a change to the moodle environment has been made today.  Just as browsers cache files locally on your computer to make it faster to load web pages, moodle does something similar on its server.  This change switches the way some types of caching in moodle works and moves from File based caching (slow) to Memory based caching (faster). Performance testing in our test environment demonstrated a 5-15% improvement in overall performance.
