  UPDATE #2
=========

We are continuing to check the moodle environment.  Early indications are that the course member synchronisation issue between Canvas and moodle is resolved as we are seeing full class cohort numbers of users synching.  Further checks will be made throughout the day to explore grade synchronisation.

  UPDATE #1
=========

Moodle and the STACK question type have now been upgraded, but this system should be treated as "at risk".  I do not recommend teaching staff create any new quizzes, questions or do any course configuration until a further update is posted here in case the system needs to be rolled back to a backup data copy.

I am investigating if the Canvas integration course members synchronisation bug has been resolved by this update and am actively monitoring the moodle system.

Thank you for your patience.

========

Please note that on the mornings of Monday 3rd November and Tuesday 4th November (reading week), ITS will be upgrading the moodle-STACK software and server environments. This work had to be postponed from the summer holiday period due to the implementation and roll out of the new Canvas LMS.

This work will be split over two days due to the need to carefully sequence both software and server upgrades and various changes to underlying software versions.  The work will commence at 8am on Monday morning when the system will be put into maintenance mode preventing access to all users. The system may be intermittently available during the morning, but users should avoid using it.  It will be fully available again from midday on the Monday when it should be considered “at risk” for a period whilst further checks are done.  On the morning of Tuesday 4th November, the moodle environment will again be unavailable whilst the servers are upgraded, but will hopefully be released to users again by late morning.
